Immár formálisan is véget ért az utóbbi évtizedek első igazi Alapítványának tevékenysége. Csöndben, szinte feltűnés nélkül. Persze régóta tudható volt: a Soros Alapítvány kivonul Magyarországról. Soros legkülönbözőbb kulturális, civil szervezeteket, személyeket támogatott - a nyílt társadalom megvalósítása érdekében. Igaz, azóta egyesek feledékenynek bizonyultak, mások megtagadták egykori mentorukat. Meghatározó többségben persze tudatában vagyunk a Soros Alapítvány tényleges súlyának, szerepének. Lehet-e kérdés, hogy a Soros Alapítvány tevékenysége nem maradhat ki a korszak történetírásából és történelemkönyveiből?
